A couple of miles east is Airlie Gardens, a 67-acre public botanical garden featuring a native butterfly house, walking trails through live oaks and a massive willow tree, and art sculptures. Less than five miles east is Wrightsville Beach, where it’s popular to search for seashells, sunbathe or swim. The beach may get crowded in the summer, as it’s a popular tourist destination in the Cape Fear region.

Styles include Postwar brick split levels and ramblers, and several townhouse subdivisions, like Inland Greens, offer three-bedroom options around the $400,000 mark.

Mayfaire Town Center is less than a mile from home and hosts over 90 retailers and restaurants.
