Grove Street
Suburban Neighborhood in Winchester, Massachusetts

Idyllic homes by Mystic Lake
Here in Grove Street, New England estate homes are often tucked behind deciduous trees, and houses are usually separated by white picket fences or tree dividers. Colonial Revivals, eclectic ranch styles, New Traditionals and split levels with brick and vinyl exteriors dot the hilly and winding neighborhood, often listing between $1 million and $3 million. Lot sizes are usually about a quarter-acre, with private driveways that are occasionally horseshoe-shaped. The narrow residential roads are all interconnected, and there are parts of the community that have sidewalks. Several townhouses can also be spotted for $1 or $1.5 million. “There’s a mixture of properties from the 1800s, some built in the 1950s and 1960s and newer redeveloped homes built in the past 20 years,” says Cirignano. From Mystic Lake to Middlesex Fells Reservation
Surrounded by both Upper Mystic Lake and Middlesex Fells Reservation, the neighborhood has myriad recreational opportunities. Mystic Lakes State Park offers 25 miles of trails and is linked to the Tri-Community Greenway, providing scenic views of the river and the wooded landscape. Canoe and kayak rentals are available in the summer. Shannon Beach, a freshwater swim beach, also opens in the summer with a new bathhouse and a large playground. Several blocks north, Ginn Field is by the Aberjona River and features sports fields, basketball courts and the Stone Family Playground. The 2,575-acre Middlesex Fells Reservation is east of the community with over 100 miles of trails, including the 8-mile Skyline Trail offering views of downtown Boston, off-leash play areas for pets and boating at Spot Pond.Top-rated public schools in Winchester
