A gated golf course community

The Lakes of the Four Seasons is a private, gated community with a golf course, located in Winfield and surrounded by Lake Holiday, Big Bass Lake, Lake on the Green and Trouthaven Lake. Established in 1966, the community, which has grown to include over 7,000 residents, is part of Porter and Lake counties. Amenities and a family-friendly vibe are expected, as is membership in the property owners association. “It’s like living in a resort, only it’s home,” Rick Cleveland, community manager at Lakes of the Four Seasons, says. “We have summer concerts every year, golf courses, a pool and lots of beaches and parks.” Golfers will love having The Four Seasons Country Club in the neighborhood with its 18-hole championship golf course, swimming pool, Pro Shop and two restaurants.

Ranch-style dwellings, Cape Cods and more

Prices range from about $215,000 for a two-bedroom of about 1,000 square feet to over $380,000 for a four-to five-bedroom with double the space. Styles include split-level and ranch-style homes, Cape Cods and custom designs. Many of the older homes have been renovated and feature modern upgrades. Newer lakefront condos and townhouses provide a maintenance-free living.

There are not enough high quality restaurants in my area. Basically there are chains such as TGIF's, Chilli's, etc. I would like to see more mom-and-pop style restaurants that really invest in "homemade." cooking. It would be beneficial to have a variety of menu choices, at reasonable prices. One chain that would be worth having in our area is Claim Jumpers. They have a location in Chicago and feature a vast menu. Also, a Boston Market would be another viable option.
