An established community with nearby shopping and recreation
The entrance to Foxhall is marked by a tree-lined boulevard framed by short red-brick walls topped with vintage streetlights and adorned with small shrubs. The minimal yet manicured welcome mirrors the vibe of the nicely kept homes on the streets beyond it. This small Winston-Salem neighborhood is sought-after for its established feel and the pillars of suburban life that it offers: average-priced homes, highly rated schools, nearby shopping centers and various recreation. “I've lived around here my whole life for good reason," says Ginger Baldwin, a third-generation Realtor with Re/Max Realty Consultants and who has almost five decades of experience in the industry.

Midcentury homes and a rapid housing market
Homes, mostly built in the 1960s, sit along wide streets that rise and fall over the neighborhood’s rolling hills. Towering oaks shade spacious, well-kept front yards featuring shapely shrubs and small flowerbeds. Home styles include small Cape Cods, brick-front ranch-style homes, split-level properties with second-story overhangs and a handful of Greek Revival and Georgian-inspired builds. Some come with attached garages or carports. While most properties cost between $300,000 and $500,000, a 1,600-square-foot ranch-style home can be priced in the upper $200,000s, and a two-story build with more than 3,000 square feet of living space can top $500,000. The market moves swiftly in Foxhall, and buyers should be ready to decide as listings here move significantly faster than the national average.
