Small town convenience just outside of Boston
Just across the water from the Boston Logan International Airport and less than a mile from the center of Winthrop, the Cottage Park neighborhood combines the convenience of small town life with waterfront views of the Boston skyline. Here, residents have access to beaches and marinas, as well as nearby shopping and dining. “Winthrop is a really small area, but that means that everything is close by,” says Elizabeth Ferrara, a partner with Cottage Hill Real Estate who has lived in Winthrop all of her life. “You get a nice sense of separation from the city.”
Waterfront soundproofed early 1900s homes
Many homes in Cottage Park were built in the early 1900s in styles such as Colonial Revival, New Englander and American Foursquare. These homes are situated along gently curving roads with mature trees shading the sidewalks. Some also offer waterfront views. The neighborhood is within a mile of the Boston Logan International Airport, but thanks to the efforts of the airport, many homes have been soundproofed. “I can see the planes taxiing from my house, but I barely hear them,” Ferrara says. Prices can range from $600,000 to about $1.2 million.
Spacious porches can be found in many homes throughout Cottage Park.
