Fords is a "good family neighborhood"

Cardoso says there are several duplexes, colonials and cottages in the neighborhood. “The community has a small-town feel,” she says. “It’s a good family neighborhood.” Homes in the community cost between $291,000 and $702,000. Cardoso adds that most houses are on smaller lots — parcels average around 7,000 square feet. Fords is a highly residential area. Less than 1% of structures are commercial properties.

Situated on the South Branch of Rahway River, the park features several athletic fields and green spaces to explore. Take your furry friends to meet Santa

Fords is local to major highways like the New Jersey Turnpike, I-95, the Garden State Parkway, Route 1 and Route 9. Residents can make the 30-mile trek to New York City or take advantage of the two NJTransit commuter rail stations in Perth Amboy or Woodbridge — both stations are less than a 10-minute drive from the community. Two bus stops along New Brunswick Avenue are a short drive away. The closest airport to Fords is Newark Liberty International, less than a 30-minute drive. Fords is less than 15 minutes from Raritan Bay Waterfront Park.
