Lively lakeside community in Worcester
Situated along the western shoreline of Lake Quinsigamond, Lake Park brings the tranquil energy of lake life to the convenience and activity of Worcester. “People move to the area because they're looking to live by a recreational lake. Boats and jet skis are super popular,” says Erin Zamarro, an associate broker with Coldwell Banker Residential who has lived in Worcester for most of her life. From their waterfront homes, residents often see boats sailing by as they gaze across the lake toward Shrewsbury, which they can access by crossing the Kenneth F. Burns Memorial Bridge. Quinsigamond State Park and boat launches encourage locals to spend time on the water, but the neighborhood is also close to the dining and art scene downtown.

Lake Park is packed with recreational opportunities on the water and on land. Quinsigamond State Park is a popular access point for Lake Quinsigamond, where residents explore nature trails, relax on sandy beaches, play tennis on the courts or pack a picnic to enjoy by the water. Residents enjoy the best of lake life and often go fishing, paddling and boating as well. “There's also Regatta Community Sailing, where people can rent sailboats, kayaks and paddleboards,” Zamarro says. If they’re feeling an indoor activity, locals can go ice skating at the Buffone Arena.

Major roadways make for simple commutes
“It's a nice place to walk since there are wide sidewalks if you're over by the lake, but people are mostly driving to get around,” Zamarro says. She adds, “It’s close to major transportation networks, like I-90, I-290 and I-495.” Commuters working downtown only have to travel 4 miles east to get to work, and major employers like the UMass hospital network, Biotech Park and the VA Hospital are also close by. Residents can also merge onto Interstate 90 to drive 45 miles east to Boston, and the Worcester Regional Airport, which is about 8 miles west, serves those planning longer trips. Bus stops operated by the Worcester Regional Transit Authority can also be found throughout the neighborhood.
