Bucolic landscapes and planned communities define Worcester

In Pennsylvania's Montgomery County, fresh produce, quaint homesteads and fall traditions are a few aspects of living in Worcester Township. "Worcester is a bedroom community that boasts the lowest property taxes in the county," says one local who has lived there for several years. "People move here because of the bucolic landscape; however, there is a good amount of development in the township." Between farmlands and stretches of verdant hills are planned communities such as Sunnybrook Estates and Crown Point Manor.

In the heart of the community is Heebner Park, an 80-acre public space that sets the stage for outdoorsy recreational pursuits. Athletic-leaning locals may play a friendly game on the baseball fields or partake in a neighborhood soccer match. The park is also an open invitation to play a game of pickup basketball or practice their backhand on the courts. Meandering walking trails lead through Heebner Park's fields and woodlands. Limited retail with local pizza, diner and farm-fresh produce

This quiet township has few retail and commercial spaces. However, those looking for a cheesy slice of pie can visit Nico's Pizza on State Road 73. Less than five minutes down the road is the popular diner, So Much to Give Inclusive Café, frequented during breakfast and lunchtime. Locals can pick up fresh produce at O&F Farms or Merrymeade Farm, a local staple. "Merrymeade is an agritainment spot where people love to get ice cream and have birthday parties," one local says. "And during the fall, Merrymeade has hayrides, pumpkin patches and corn mazes. It's very family-friendly!"
