Close to public transit in Rockledge Heights
Sitting on the border of Yonkers and the Bronx, Rockledge Heights is a residential community with apartments and rowhouses that offer quick access to shops and restaurants. This Westchester County community sits next to Broadway, one of the most trafficked roads in the city, and has easy access to several stops on the Hudson Line, which is operated by the Metro-North Railroad. The neighborhood’s proximity to Manhattan and public transportation makes the area attractive to those commuting into the city for work.
Rowhouses starting in the $400,000s
While some of Rockledge Heights’ older homes still stand, many have been demolished over the past 20 years. “Recently, homes here have been cleared out to make room for apartment buildings,” says Kenneth Moran, an Associate Broker with Keller Williams Realty, who’s been selling homes in the area for over a decade. While apartments make up over half of the total property mix for this neighborhood today, homebuyers can infrequently find single-family and multi-family rowhouses from the late 1800s and early 1900s. These two- to eight-bedroom homes typically sell for $400,000 to $800,000.
Single-family homes line up quiet streets in Rockledge Heights.

Broadway, which borders the neighborhood to the west, provides those commuting by car with a straight shot into the city, running 15 miles south all the way to Battery Park. “The roads are heavily trafficked, but it's also a huge train stop,” says Moran. LaGuardia Airport is 10 miles south. The closest hospital is Saint Joseph's Medical Center, which is located 1 mile north.
