Veterans Memorial Park is a neighborhood in York, Pennsylvania, a historic city between Baltimore and Harrisburg. Named for the large park complex that takes up much of the area’s square footage, the neighborhood offers its residents a mix of housing styles and proximity to York’s downtown, with shopping, dining and Revolutionary War-era history. “There is a rich history in York,” says Mitzi Heaton, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Realty. “The Gates’ House, downtown, is where General Horatio Gates lived. He was part of a group who tried to discredit Washington during the Revolutionary War.” Public transit, city events, and access to the York City School District and Penn State York’s campus are other characteristics of this neighborhood.
