Many people see the outskirts of airports as a place to ignore when shopping for homes. But to Realtor Kristine Price of Samson Properties, who has sold town homes in the Loudon Parkway Center Subdivision in Loudoun Valley, it's not a deterrent. The airport is, in fact, an attraction. “People are buying and the airport noise is like the last thing on their mind,” says Price. With its excellent schools and proximity to several major commuter routes, “it really comes down to the location,” says Price. Loudoun Valley is a shallow gorge separated on either side by Broad Run, a tributary to the Potomac River. On the north end of the gorge, tightly clustered subdivisions of neo-Colonial single-family homes and town houses run along Loudoun County Parkway until it reaches a small hospital and shopping center just before merging with State Route 267. The south end of the gorge is mostly a spread of low industrial buildings that house offices for auto manufacturers, government services and catering companies, as well as a few additional subdivisions.
