Small city living in Lyndon
About 12 miles from Louisville, the small city of Lyndon blends rural history and modern suburban living. Lyndon’s roots can be traced to Alvin Wood, who built a train depot in town during the mid-19th century. Named Lyndon after Lynn’s Station, an 18th-century fort, the city was officially incorporated in 1965. Homes around town sell within 14 days on the market, partly due to its small-town ambiance combined with local eateries and major retail chains just minutes away. “East Louisville is an incredible location. It’s close to all that downtown has to offer but is minutes away from nearby malls and interstates is a huge draw as well,” says Michael Horstman, broker and owner of At House Louisville and real estate agent, who is a lifelong resident of Jefferson County.
