Tampa-Hillsborough County librarian Pamela Tucker describes Mango as understated and suburbanesque. "You can still find lots of trees and some rural spots. Housing developments usually have one road in and out for commuters to access major highways," she says. And while the name may invite images of sunset-colored tropical fruit – not out of place with Florida’s own associations with orange fruit harvests in its famously warm climate – there are no mango trees to be found here. There is, however, a small community made up of parks with lots of activities, a strong school district and distinctive homes. This piece of Hillsborough County has no frills and no fuss - just simple, modest and comfortable living.

Dogs and drones
The parks in the community give residents spaces to relax, take walks or go for a jog. They can take the pups to Mango Dog Park, where both small and large dogs each have their own open areas to run around in. They can also shoot hoops or try out drone racing at the Mango Recreation Center. The lake at Tanner Road Park is a refreshing spot to unwind and observe the pelicans and other local wildlife.

Grocery shopping can be done at Publix, ALDI or Winn-Dixie. The Brandon Mall is less than five miles away and supplies shoppers with lots of familiar retail brands and restaurants.
