An established suburb going through some changes
Pinewood Park is a nearly 70-year-old North Miami suburb undergoing a few changes. Miami-Dade County completed renovations to the community’s central park, and new buyers are coming to flip some of the neighborhood’s older homes. “Pinewood Park is an up-and-coming neighborhood that people overlook,” says local Realtor Alexander Ferran with RE/MAX City Centre Realty. “Younger families are coming in and renovating older homes, and prices have really boomed.” The community is also home to an established medical center that’s been around for a few decades. “North Shore Medical Center is being redone,” Ferran says. Interstate 95 Expressway runs along the neighborhood’s eastern border, providing easy access to central Miami.

Single-family and multi-family homes from the 1950s
Homes in Pinewood Park sit close together on narrow streets lined with sidewalks and mature palms. Most houses sit on 8,000-square-foot lots with fenced-in front and backyards. Homes were predominantly built in the 1950s and ‘60s, and buyers will find a mix of midcentury modern, ranch-style and Mediterranean homes. Most houses measure between 800 and 1,800 square feet with two to four bedrooms, listing between $300,000 and $650,000. Pinewood also features several multi-family homes. Arthur Woodard Park got a few upgrades in 2022
In 2022, the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department debuted new amenities at Arthur Woodard Park. The park’s new amenities included a fitness court, picnic tables, a platform for local events and a designated walkway. The park was named after a former high school principal who maintained the once private land for local families. The lakefront park sprawls across two acres at the heart of Pinewood Park. On the community’s north end is Gratigny Plateau Park, a narrow green space that occupies four blocks between several homes. It features walking paths, fitness stations and a butterfly garden.
