“Midvale is a very affordable area of Salt Lake County, where the average home price is $516,000, versus the Salt Lake County average of $602,000,” says Wolters. Homes typically range between $375,000 to $625,000 and residences can vary greatly depending on the area in Midvale; homes near Main Street are usually two- or three-bed condos or townhouses from the late 20th century or newer and start around $300,000. Further east, residential subdivisions feature late-to-mid-century ramblers or Craftsman-style homes with sidewalk-lined streets and well-kept front lawns, typically starting around $500,000 for a four- or five-bed home.

About a mile south, just outside Midvale, Gardner Village features local businesses and boutique shops like Storybook Nook, a bookstore. There’s also Mystique Dining, where patrons enjoy a magic show paired with a five-course gourmet meal in a gothic, regal setting.

A city brimming with community and art
Locals in Midvale enjoy a packed schedule of community events throughout the year, like the Harvest Days Festival every August at Midvale City Park; the festivities include a fun run, live music and carnival games. In June, there’s the Los Muros on Main: Midvale City Mural Festival, where festivalgoers can admire the many works of local artists proudly on display around Main Street while enjoying music, games and food. In the summer, residents line up for Food Truck Fridays at City Hall before heading to Midvale City Park for free admission to Summer Concert Series performances. Getting around Salt Lake County from Midvale
Midvale is centrally located in Salt Lake County, which means area hubs like Salt Lake City to the north and Draper to the south are both between 10 and 15 miles away; commuting to Salt Lake City during rush hour takes between 15 and 35 minutes. Most locals drive to get around, and there’s convenient access to Highway 89 and Interstate 15, which run through the middle of the neighborhood. Utah Transit Authority provides bus routes and TRAX, a light rail system that residents can board at the Midvale Center Station for a 30- to 40-minute commute to Salt Lake City.
