About Inniswylde

Inniswylde is a new residential neighborhood located in the heart of Baton Rouge off of Bluebonnet Boulevard, near I-10. The neighborhood is close to major thoroughfares, businesses, major medical facilities, schools, shopping, dining and entertainment venues, yet tucked away in a quiet pocket of the city.

Homes in Inniswylde range in price from the $500’s to $600’s and are a mix of one- and two-story plans. Home designs maximize family open space connected to the rear yard with 3- and 4-bedroom options, many of which have bonus or flex spaces for today’s lifestyle. Inniswylde is a best kept secret because it’s so close to everything but tucked away in a great residential area off Bluebonnet.

In the early 1930s, a piece of land was purchased with a conversation and a handshake. Purchased by D.E McInnis from John C. Burden, the then-open pastureland was called McInnis Farm and became the family home. The name Inniswylde draws its roots from the property’s history, location and features.

The McInnis Family was of Scottish heritage, naming one of the original streets on the property West Inniswold Road. Inniswold, when translated from Scottish, means “world of Innis.” The property itself and the surrounding neighborhood is lush and green with many mature oak trees and foliage; the Scottish spelling of “wylde” speaks to the wild, green nature of the area.
