Leaving busy behind in North Ogden's residential community

Beauty abounds in North Ogden, where big homes back up against snow-capped mountains and peer into the Salt Lake Valley. “It’s Utah’s north point,” says Realtor Cory Berdinner of Utah Dream Properties. “People who buy homes up here want to leave behind the busyness of their day and don’t mind driving further to get wherever they need to go.”

Diverse housing styles and prices

Homes range between the mid $400,000s and $2 million. Here, buyers know they’ll pay significantly less for large new constructions than in cities closer to Salt Lake, like Farmington. Ramblers and ranch-style homes from the early to mid-1900s account for properties on the low end, with brand-new contemporary craftsmen starting in the $600,000s. These valley homes welcome views of Mount Ben Lomond, commonly known as “Big Ben,” through your windows.

Price, size and elevation all increase together. These high-end homes cover up to 4,500 square feet, providing plenty of space for families with several children and multi-generational families with adult children and live-in grandparents. Three-car garages and wide cement driveways fit all your vehicles and outdoor toys like mountain bikes, four-wheelers and side-by-sides.

Custom Millennial Mansions perched in the foothills of Big Ben draw attention from buyers with budgets exceeding $1 million. Panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows peer into the Salt Lake Valley; this is the view you moved here for. Think of your home as the figurine inside a snow globe, with lush evergreen trees and snow-capped mountains surrounding you, offering stunning sights year-round.

Staying active in community parks and on the mountains

Interactive musical instruments and intricate rope climbing structures entertain kids at North Ogden Park – located next to the elementary school. You’ll also find pickleball courts, baseball fields and a skate park. During summer, beat the heat at North Shore Aquatic Center, where massive water slides and a shallow water park provide fun for kids of all ages. Closer to home, grab your mountain bike from the garage and kick the dust up along the Ben Lomond Trail. However, Snow Basin sits just 22 miles from your front door, and most residents consider its proximity a prime perk of living in North Ogden.

North Ogden's retail and local restaurants

Groceries are an easy errand to accomplish at Lee’s or Smith’s. Drive three miles south and arrive at your closest Walmart or keep going for five more miles and hit Newgate Mall. North Ogden is also home to a few beloved family-owned restaurants. Kirt’s Drive-in invites you to “take a trip back in time” at their retro-themed diner. Established in 1973, Kirt’s is famous for its Classic Big Joe Burgers and specialty sodas, like The Shuckster: a blend of Mountain Dew, lime and coconut. If your sweet tooth still craves more sugar, locals will likely recommend you stop by Cannery Creamery. Owners Dan and Whitney Mueller proudly claim the title as North Ogden’s only handmade ice cream shop and use local dairy to make year-round and seasonal flavors.

Cherry Days brings the community together through fun events

Over two dozen community events jam back-to-back throughout the Cherry Days. This beloved nine-day festival kicks off with an 18-hour pickleball tournament. Brave, young children dawn helmets and vests during the Jr. Posse Rodeo as they grip onto sheep, hoping to win the Mutton Bustin’ competition. Strap into rides, hop through inflatables and order a funnel cake with all the toppings; The Cherry Days Carnival posts up in North Ogden Park during the final two-day stretch. Then, the parade, grand finale concert and fireworks mark the end of another memorable Cherry Days.
