Historic neighborhood near Business Depot Ogden
One of Ogden’s oldest neighborhoods, Lynn was established in the 1850s by early pioneers who lived in Bingham Fort, the original settlement created during conflicts with the Shoshone Native American tribe. It’s also located just 2 miles outside of Business Depot Ogden, an industrial business park with warehouses, manufacturing facilities and offices, where there are also hundreds of job opportunities. “Lynn is popular because of its strong economy, job growth and proximity to the business depot,” says Realtor Jordan Smith with Local Utah Realty, who has five years of experience and has sold over 200 homes in the Ogden area. “The neighborhood offers a smaller town feel with bigger city amenities.” While the area itself is primarily made up of homes, it is also surrounded by shopping and dining.

Dozens of different housing options
Lynn’s residential streets are lined with homes of varying shapes and sizes. “The neighborhood offers a lot of homes that aren’t cookie cutter,” Smith says. Farther east, closer to Washington Boulevard, properties are modest. Traditional single-story homes built in the 1910s and 1960s are common, span 1,000 to 1,500 square feet and cost $275,000 to $375,000. Midcentury ranch-style homes go for similar prices. There are even a handful of historic houses from Lynn’s pioneer beginnings along 2nd Street, where Fort Bingham used to be. To the west of Wall Avenue, houses are newer and sit on larger lots. Split levels built in the 1960s to 1980s go for $400,000 to $500,000. There are also Craftsman homes with multiple pointed roofs, front gables and stone accents. These properties were built in the 2000s and 2010s, span 1,500 to 2,100 square feet and are priced between $425,000 and $650,000, depending on how many levels there are. Most single-family homes come with driveways, fenced-in backyards and well-maintained lawns surrounded by mature trees. Alternative housing options are sprinkled throughout the neighborhood. Lynn has multiple townhouses and condo complexes that offer units for $225,000 to $300,000. Shops and restaurants along 12th Street and Washington
Despite Lynn’s primarily suburban landscape, the neighborhood is surrounded commercial spaces with shopping and dining. Dozens of chain and local restaurant options line 12th Street. The Rusted Spoon is an old-western-inspired breakfast restaurant serving American comfort food, while LoLo Hawaiian BBQ brings international flavors to the area. Fast food restaurants include Tropical Smoothie, Little Caesar’s and Zaxby’s. WinCo Foods and Natural Grocers are both on 12th Street for groceries. More food options are found along Washington Boulevard. Señor Pollo Mexican Grille specializes in traditional Mexican cuisine. There’s also the Black Bear Diner and Arctic Circle. The Family Center at Ogden Five Points is a shopping center at the intersection of 2nd Street and Harrisville Road that has retail options like Dollar Tree and Harbor Freight Tools. Farther north is a Walmart Supercenter. Ogden’s Business Depot is only 2 miles from the neighborhood. Ogden public schools with quality programs
Families living in Lynn can send their kids to Ogden City Public Schools. Heritage Elementary School is within walking distance and earns a C grade from Niche. Students have the opportunity at Heritage to take math and writing enrichment classes. From there, students can attend Highland Junior High School with its C-minus. Ben Lomond High School maintains a B-minus and offers an International Baccalaureate program in addition to its Advanced Placement program.

Neighborhood parks and sports complexes
Green spaces are mixed within Lynn’s suburban landscape, providing recreation for the community. Romrell Park has a playground with slides and climbing structures, plus picnic tables and grills. The park’s hilly landscape creates sledding opportunities when it snows. Within the same grounds is the 4th Street Ball Park with three baseball and softball fields and four sand volleyball courts. Bleachers, concession stands and scoreboards add to the experience. On Century Drive, Let’s Play Soccer is an indoor soccer complex with year-round youth and adult leagues.

Traveling in and around Lynn
Lynn is surrounded by main roads, making it easy for drivers to get around. U.S. Route 89, known as Washington Boulevard, runs north to south on the neighborhood’s east side. Washington branches off to the west on 2nd Street and becomes Harrisville Road. Commuters can take the road roughly 4 miles south into downtown Ogden. Additionally, Utah state Route 39, known as 12th Street, travels east to west along the neighborhood’s southern edge and heads into the Wasatch Mountains. Utah Transit Authority bus stops are lined along 2nd Street, 12th Street, Wall Avenue and Washington Boulevard. The Ogden Regional Airport is about 8 miles away, though its commercial flight offerings are limited.
