Why Live in Ironwood Country Club
Ironwood Country Club was originally developed in the 1970s, and it is one of southern Palm Desert’s largest gated communities. “It has a really great lifestyle. You have access to golf, and there’s high-end shopping and dining nearby,” says Molly Hobin Williams, president and CEO of the 100-year-old Hobin Company, who has been working in Palm Desert and Manhattan Beach since 2010.Along the edges of the community, residential streets and houses skirt the base of the San Jacinto Mountains. “Because you’re tucked up against the mountain, it’s not as windy as some other parts of the Coachella Valley,” Williams says. Buyers can find three general categories of homes in the community — condos, freestanding houses that are classified as condos and custom homes. Most condos were built in the 1970s or ‘80s, and they have neutral-toned stucco exteriors and terra-cotta roof tiles. They generally list between $500,000 and just under $1 million. With freestanding homes listed as condos, the owner maintains the interior, and the HOA covers exterior maintenance and landscaping. These tend to fall between $1 million and $1.8 million.
