A large city in Los Angeles County and one of the main cultural and artistic epicenters of the San Gabriel Valley, Pasadena is located in southern California. This sunny city boasts residences, and especially condos, ranging from one bedroom starter apartments to multi-story dwellings. The condominium residences of Pasadena are characterized by the laid-back, Spanish and Latin-influenced architecture that is predominant in the area.
Pasadena, just ten miles north of Los Angeles, is divided into its more central district and Greater Pasadena. A number of unique and charming neighborhoods are scattered throughout the city’s twenty-three square miles. Bungalow Heaven is one of these residential communities, and contains more than 800 residences that date back to the early 1900s. A number of famous architects are responsible for much of the unique structural detailing of the neighborhood. Just south of Bungalow Heaven lies Orange Grove Boulevard, which is one of a number of exclusively residential settings within the city. Orange Grove Boulevard is a well-known and extremely affluent district of Pasadena, a distinction which has earned it the nickname of ‘Millionaire’s Row’. The Rose Parade is held there annually and attracts visitors from far and wide. Much of the shopping and retail activity of the city takes place in Old Town Pasadena, which has some residential options, along with the South Lake Avenue neighborhood.
Numerous technology, commercial, and research companies have made their home in Pasadena, and the city also relies on government, business and finance, healthcare, education, retail, and manufacturing for its employment economy. The largest employers in the city are Kaiser Permanente, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, Huntington Hospital, Pasadena Unified School District, AT&T, City of Pasadena, Pasadena City College, and Bank of America. Other Pasadena-based corporations include Cogent Systems, Avery Dennison, Inter-Con Security, Jacobs Engineering Group, Green Dot Corporation, Wesco Financial, Wetzel’s Pretzels, and OpenX.
