Diverse, family-friendly Atlanta suburb
Incorporated as a city in 2011, Peachtree Corners is an active Atlanta suburb with its eyes set on the future. The town has dedicated itself to offering a great quality of life and top-notch amenities that meet the needs of its residents. “We have a good diversity of people, housing, opportunities and schools here. We are very in tune with trying to create an environment that reaches out to everybody because we are such a diverse location,” says Louis Svehla, Peachtree Corners’ director of communications. “We’re proud to have people from every walk of life.”

Free events at the Town Center and more
“We have a lot to offer from an amenities standpoint. Local businesses and nonprofits do a ton of events,” Svehla says. “At the Town Center, we have events throughout the year that are completely free. We do concerts, festivals and movies on the green, and we continue to try to add to all of those.” The Peachtree Corners Festival in September is one of the town’s largest events. This multi-day festival on the Town Green has live music, classic car shows, games and crafts for kids, vendors and more. The Atlanta Sci-Fi Film Festival, also at the Town Green, comes around in October and features live performances and movie screenings. The Curiosity Lab Criterium is a recently introduced annual event featuring a U.S. Professional Cycling Circuit and competitive road race. The event, located at the Curiosity Lab, also showcases new technologies for road users.

Outdoor fun at the Town Green and Jones Bridge Park
Peachtree Corners Town Green is a popular hangout spot with a newly built playground and lawn for events. “Our playgrounds are completely custom. It really sets us apart from other places,” Svehla says. In the northern portion of the neighborhood, Jones Bridge Park has access to the Chattahoochee River, where locals can go tubing, kayaking or swimming.

Brick colonials, contemporary homes, condos and townhouses
Spacious brick colonial revivals and contemporary homes with four or more bedrooms usually cost between $600,000 and $700,000 in Peachtree Corners. On the lower end, condo units and townhouses start at just under $200,000 and range into the upper $300,000s. The city is making strides to transform the area’s existing business park, which is currently zoned for office or commercial use, into mixed-use residential areas. “We’re trying to rebuild and revitalize Tech Park and add more adaptive reuse to our properties, and we want to put in housing opportunities without pure rental. We’re focusing on building townhomes and condos,” Svehla says. “You hear this a lot, but we want people to live, work and play here. We’re really building that so families can work close to where they live.”

Atlanta Tech Park and getting Downtown
“We are a main thoroughfare from the outskirts of Gwinnett County. We have two highways that run through here,” Svehla says. State Route 141, which travels north-south, and State Route 140, which travels east-west, cross through the town. The town is only about 20 miles northeast of Downtown Atlanta, which locals can access by car via GA-141 and I-85. However, many residents find employment at Atlanta Tech Park, a 500-acre office park that’s also home to the city-owned Curiosity Lab innovation center. “Tech Lab is a major employer. We have about 44,000 residents, and our same area has about 40,000 to 42,000 jobs,” Svehla says. Low taxes are also a draw. “You do not have to pay any property taxes to the town of Peachtree Corners. Of all the amenities we have, none of that money is coming from residential taxpayers. They reap the benefits without having to pay for it. That’s a big thing for us.”
