Situated between multiple major roads and still quiet

Located just 23 miles from downtown Dallas in Plano, Park Forest is an established neighborhood featuring entry-level homes with nearby parks, shopping centers and easy access to U.S. Route 75. “Park Forest is in between two major east-west arteries,” says Elaine Sherp, Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed TX. “So there is easy access to everything. You can also get on the DART rail to reach downtown Dallas.” While the neighborhood has access to multiple major Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex thoroughfares, the neighborhood remains quiet, with neighborhood elementary and middle schools being the main source of noise that residents may encounter.

Older ranch and midcentury modern homes with updates in Plano

Under the shade of mature Oak trees, the homes of Park Forest mainly consist of mid-century, ranch and ranch-style homes. Lots tend to be evenly spaced apart, although along some streets the homes are closer together. “There isn’t an HOA in the area, and the area has older homes, a lot of which have been updated,” Sherp says. There will be some street parking, but most homes have garages or carports lined along back alleys. Many homes will have fireplaces, and some of the outsides of homes may be painted in bright colors. However, many homes will have either red or white brick, sometimes with slanted wood paneling. Home prices generally begin around $300,000 and can reach $450,000, with a few rare exceptions reaching almost $500,000. Homes tend to have small front porches, usually covering just the front door. Backyard pools, both above and below ground, can be found scattered throughout the neighborhood.
