Proximity to highly rated schools with access to downtown Plano
Named after a small creek that runs through the north and one of the smaller communities in the northeast, Russell Creek-Cross Creek is a quiet neighborhood about 6 miles north of downtown Plano with access to highly rated schools and thoroughfares that lead into downtown Dallas. “This pocket of Plano is close to Allen, Texas, close to really great schools, great shopping,” says Brielle Oakley, Realtor with Compass based in the Dallas area who has been in real estate since 2020. “People will stay in Dallas until they maybe have a kid and then it becomes where can they go to school.” The Plano Independent School District earns an A-plus from Niche and U.S Highway 75 is about 5 miles east of the neighborhood. Historic Downtown Plano has events and live music throughout the year, anchored by local businesses and restaurants along a brick road.

New Traditional to the north, ranch-style to the south
To the north of Legacy Drive, New Traditional homes define most of the neighborhood. With rear-facing garages and alleys, the front yards can be large and landscaped with sidewalks covering the neighborhood. Prices can range from $400,000 to $620,000. While street parking is possible, the streets rarely fill up with vehicles, leaving the front of properties clear to feature the front of homes better. Most homes have red brick exteriors, and many come with a backyard pool, although these are more common with New Traditional homes instead of ranch-style. To the south of Legacy Drive is a smaller section of ranch-style homes, although with similar features of rear-facing garages, large front yards, and sidewalks that cover the area. Prices for ranch-style homes will be a little lower, beginning around $320,000 and reaching about $509,000.
