A city snug in the center or Broward County, Plantation is bordered by fellow Florida cities Lauderhill, Sunrise, Davie, and Fort Lauderdale. The city covers a total of around 20 square miles and is an everglade paradise. For people looking to make the move, there is an extensive range of home opportunities currently available. Smaller budgets versus more expansive ones will be equally satisfied by the various prices and sizes of the charming Floridian homes located in equally idyllic neighborhoods.

In 2010 the population of Plantation was estimated at around 85,000 people, making it a lively community but not one overcrowded or sparse. The city's name comes from the original owner of the land, the Evergreen Plantation Company, and it is home to a thriving economy and a rich college atmosphere. The DHL World Headquarters for the Americas is located in Plantation, as well as Goodwin Biotechnology and a sales office for Avianca. Plantation was initially the location of two malls, but the Westfield Broward Mall is the remaining of the two, providing shopping and entertainment for locals. Plantation offers a comfortable environment for not only retirees but also young and adventurous individuals seeking out new opportunities both in employment and education.

The American InterContinental University, the University of Phoenix, and the Esperanto Language Institute headquarters are all located in Plantation, Florida. For younger students, there are two public high schools, three middle schools, and seven elementary schools. There are five private schools offering different education as well, most often in the religious aspect. The town is part of the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood media market with primarily daily newspapers named South Florida Sun-Sentinel and The Miami Herald. Plantation also publishes its own quarterly news magazine, Plantation Quarterly. The city has often been used as a filming location for popular movies. There's Something About Mary features a high school which is actually Plantation City Hall, and the Rolling Hills Golf Course (now called the Grande Oaks) was the site of the infamous Caddyshack pool scene. Houses of all shapes and sizes sprawl across the surface area of Plantation, making it a comfortable tropical paradise with plenty of things to do and a place where a home can easily be found, bought, and established. Plantation represents a gem of the Florida state, a city in which whether you have a one-bedroom house or a five-bedroom mansion, you enjoy the sunshine all the same.
