The "Yock" gets is name from the Yockanookany River that flows right through the center of the property. On the west side of the property runs the Natchez Trace Parkway whose borders providing acres of protected land that hem the property in protecting it from development. When you pull off the Trace and enter the private drive you feel the significance as you wind through the huge cypress and oak trees. Before our country existed, American Indians had networks of trails along this corridor which were utilized by the Natchez, Choctaw and Chickasaw Tribes.
