The Plains Elk Unit, now in place of 20 years, allows for a 5 month season commencing September 1 January 31, unlimited tags per hunter, either sex, and rifle or weapon of choice. (See regulations.) The ranch would also qualify for 3 landowner deer tags, application March 31st. Plains bear tags are over-the-counter September 2-November 24. Turkey, lion, and small game are over-the-counter.
While over 85% of the ranch is excellent Pinion, Juniper and Oak, interspersed with gramma& native grass meadows, it would be hard to find a better blend of game-holding habitat or end-to-end waterdispersal via water line and drinkers than at the Country Cabin Land, Elk and Cattle Ranch.
