I was the talk of the town—a Greek revival home w/ columns reaching toward the heavens. My ceilings, adorned w/ faux stamped tin, whispered tales of elegance & grandeur. Over the years, I welcomed many families, each leaving their mark on me. I've seen love blossom, children grow, & dreams take flight within my walls. It wasn't until a pair of schoolteachers from New Jersey arrived that I truly felt cherished. They had spent decades enduring harsh Northeast winters, teaching young minds while dreaming of warmth & charm. When they first saw me, I was a shadow of my former self. The years had been kind, but I needed more than just a bit of love & care. They saw past the worn floors & chipped paint—they saw the beauty I once was & could be again. They saw me. The kitchen became a masterpiece, w/ its ceiling shimmering like the night sky. In 2019, they gave me a new roof, & I felt as though I could stand tall for another 100 yrs. The new AC made those warm Mississippi days cooler. It wasn't just the renovations that made me feel loved.
