Each panel is specifically designed and built off site then shipped in and put together on site by crane and supported by large laminated beams to ensure superior structural stability. Building with SIPs does however come at a price tag of roughly 10-15% more than traditional framing BUT improves the thermal efficiency of the home by around 70% and is roughly 2.5 times stronger than the traditionally framed home. These are massive benefits that improve the performance and comfort of the home and continue to reward for the entire lifespan of the structure. There are also some great environmental benefits to a SIP home. With 30% less lumber used in the construction and 45% lass CO2 emissions every year due to the low amount of energy needed to heat and cool! We chose Thermocore Panels because they have a higher R-value per inch of thickness than other panels and the foam is self-extinguishing and does not melt.
