If you’re looking for a luxury home with premium construction, please look elsewhere. But, if you are looking for a good house in a great location, a house with character and charm in a quiet, natural setting, with plenty of space between neighbors, but that’s only 10 minutes from Lowes, read on. We want to share this: if it weren’t for a new job in another town, we’d still live at 1465 Birchwillow. This was our first Alaska home, and we’ll never forget rolling up on a sunny day in late winter almost five years ago. We’ve had a good life here. We’re happy to say, too, that we’re leaving the house better than we found it. We leave a few projects undone, like a new wrap-around deck (party!) we planned to build this summer, but the house is in move-in condition. This house might be called Alaska luxury: running water from a well, a functioning septic system, the pipes don’t freeze, and the house is warm in winter with a forced-air furnace, newer double-paned windows, and proper insulation. Nothing leaks, and everything works! The wood siding inside and out came from trees cut when clearing the property. Cabin-style but with a flush toilet, shower tub, and laundry! Side note from the Sellers: buying real estate can be an anxiety-inducing experience. Not here. We know the property better than anyone, and I’ll tell you everything we know. Full transparency is good for karma. As a housewarming gift, we’re providing a home warranty – you have enough to worry about with moving. We’ve been happy here and think you will be, too.
