Known for hardiness and teamwork, the founders formed their own County Water District, which still operates today as the Canebrake County Water District. There is no HOA, but membership in the Canebrake Improvement Association is twenty dollars a year and is voluntary but includes many benefits, including the enjoyment of the McKenny Hall Community Building.
