Dr. Moses Willard Bigelow had the building built to serve as both his family's home and the first hospital in the area. County records show it was built in 1935, but visitors to the inn have reported relatives born here as early as 1920. When the doctor moved his practice to Salt Lake City he sold the house to his nurse/midwife and her husband Earl & Beulah Allen. She continued to deliver babies in the house until sometime in the 60's. They also rented out some of the rooms and the house was commonly know as the "Allen Apartments" After the Allen's moved, there were several other families who rented portions of the house as apartments until the current owners bought the property in 2000 and turned it into a bed and breakfast.
