The area around the home is very well landscaped. There are seasonal water features, flowering bulbs, ornamental shrubs and more in the backyard oasis. Adjacent to the well landscaped portion of the property are the 200± acres of woodlands. The acreage has been logged several times over the past 50 years, and has an excellent trail system through it. The early successional forest is home to numerous grouse, hare, deer, moose and more. The soils on the majority of the property are good and well drained. At one time a good portion of the property was farmed for potatoes, but is now reforested.
The wetland area around the pond is prime habitat for waterfowl and wading birds. There is over 2600 feet of waterfrontage on the pond. There is also about 50 feet of frontage on Molunkus Stream. Molunkus is an excellent trout stream in the early season. Molunkus is a great stream to canoe and has several points where you can put in and take out.
The property is located right off the interstate in the town of Sherman, Maine. Sherman is lightly populated with about 850 residents. There is a grocery store, a couple of gas stations, and lots of farmland and working forest. Sherman is just a short drive from Patten, Maine as well as Houlton, Maine.
