Better than brand new! Home was model home. Large living room and family room both with fireplaces. Spacious kitchen with large island complete with prep sink. 4 Bedrooms upstairs with quest bedroom off downstairs family room. South facing with fence and meticulous landscaping. Turnkey and close to all amenities. Like new with everything completed.Write up from the sellers themselves. Second chance on a Grand Oak floorplan in Huffman timbers. When we first bought the house it was really because it was the only one that was going to fit our furniture and piano. Since living here, however, we have really come to love the floorplan. It has been such a versatile house. The walkways and rooms downstairs are big enough that we have enough room for the kids to run around yet when we want to host over 20 people for thanksgiving we were easily able to set up extra tables and seat everyone at one long table. The two seating areas have been nice to give both kids and adults a separate place to hang out yet still feel Like a collective group. I love the big open living room, but have also enjoyed having the more secluded living room around the corner that has given us privacy from the kids while they are sleeping to watch a movie or gives our guests a place to hang out and not disturb or be disturbed in the morning. I love the guest room on the bottom floor. It gives them some space from the kids and it is large enough to fit a king bed. For us we used two extra long twin mattresses so that it is able to be a king bed for guests, but I can stack them when guest are gone and have a play room on the first floor. In the past we have had a first floor master, but I really enjoyed in this house how the master was upstairs with the kids (especially during the earthquake) yet it is still segregated in order to give us some privacy. Having 5 bedrooms has been amazing as it has allowed us to give all our kids some space when they needed it and the closets are big enough to fit all their stuff. The little balcony has made a great playroom where you are able to watch the kids from the kitchen, yet they are out of the way. I love the location of the house. Initially we were trying to be closer to new seward to cut down on commute time, but what I have now learned is Lake Otis is a great alternate route and often the first road plowed so we are able to get where we want to go all winter long without 4 wheel drive. I Like that I am 3 minutes from Carrs and 3 minutes from Fred Meyers. There are 2 great preschools (amazing grace and new horizons) within a 3 minute drive. Having little ones, being close to the zoo was a lifesaver when we first moved here. This year we had our first experience with the school system with my son entering kindergarten and we absolutely loved Huffman. It is a great school and they always have something going on, from cross country running in the fall, to cross country skiing in the winter and family movie nights. We have had fun being part of the school. Our neighbors have also been great, as one of the first in the neighborhood, We have had the pleasure of meeting everyone as they moved in. Everyone is very friendly and neighborly yet I feel everyone respects each others boundaries. Another great advantage of our house has been the yard size. Though I may have loved the idea of living on an acre of land, our driveway has been more than big enough for our 4 kids to play and ride bikes in and it only takes me 45 minutes to shovel it, 10 if I just need to get my car out real quick. Likewise our backyard has enough room to run around and kick a soccer ball around yet it only takes 45 minutes to mow the yard (which I did twice a week, to help the yard thicken). I have not for a minute regretted getting a big or more secluded yard, as I feel we have effectively use our yard as we would have a larger one, but with less maintenance. What I will miss most is the yard, finally this year our yard has been dry enough for the kids to run around (our first year it was mud until July and you couldn't walk on the grass til late August and last year it was still taking root and not soaking up as much rain as this year), I am sad to miss the rose bushes blooming and especially sad to miss harvesting the apples, crab apples, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and golden raspberries. Last year we had a small crop that was fun for the kids to pick and this year it looks Like it will be even better!
