With all of the many uncertainties of COVID-19 we experienced being part of a great community that really came together. There were neighbors helping neighbors:
• Providing or bartering food when there were shortages at the grocery store
• Offering to pick up groceries/supplies for those who were not mobile or just because they were there
• Checking in on the elderly
• Virtual Easter Egg "Window" Hunt for the Kids
• Kids virtual "Safari" with stuffies in the windows
• Food truck (when allowed) & Kona Ice Food Truck (when allowed)
• Living in 4100 sq ft allowed a family of 6 (Telecommuters, Virtual Zoom School sessions, Indoor Nerf wars, etc) to have plenty of space.
There are countless other examples, but at the end of the day there was a sense of community, safety, and support.
We all hope to never have to face these types of challenges again, but there is no other community you would want to be a part of in these times.
