In 1986, one man's dream was to build his own house from scratch. Using repurposed materials long before it was cool, Jack Kennelly created this cabin in Lakeland Village. With flooring from a gymnasium basketball court, stained-glass windows from a local church and tombstone trimmings to create the 2-story fireplace. The antique double doors are over 100 years old and completing the cabin look is a spiral staircase. The interior and exterior walls are finished in knotty cedar. The lower level of the house is tiled throughout. Head out the back door of the house to enter the 4-car garage designed with projects in mind. Recessed lighting gives off lots of light to illuminate your projects. A mezzanine on the south wall provides storage for long term projects. While, the two main roll up doors are powered, allowing for a secure entry. The single roll up door in the back adds ventilation and access to the machine shop. Powered with 220v and a 3-phase converter, the machine shop houses a mill and lathe. The 220v compressor lives in the machine shop keeping the noise out of the work shop. Finally, outside is a 2-post automotive lift with surrounding slab poured with vehicle lifting in mind. The area around the house has plenty of parking for trailers, equipment and all your guests.
