About This Home
As of September 2021A Letter from the Seller! We thought this would be our last home for a while until we had to move closer to one of our three daughters. That plan came to an abrupt end with a serious eye injury in October 2019. We have to move now and not later. This was our perfect house - we love it and everything about it. We are on a nice wide lake with a large fountain, a beautiful view across the water where half of it is a landscaped common area. Beautiful Florida sunsets, a variety of birds walking and swimming by (the shore patrol), and occasional otters and a rare alligator add to the sights from the sunroom. In front of the house we are fortunate to have 360 sq.ft. ''L'' shaped porch decorated by the resident gardener with plants and seating exceeding that in the living room. A 4 x 6-foot American flag, undercover, flies 24/7. A white metal powder-coated railing encloses the area except for the passageway. People passing by often comment on the area with some wishing aloud that they had such a nice fresh-air shaded space facing the street. Traffic on Tesoro Circle is heavy at times averaging two vehicles an hour. The porch is a great place to sit, read, and greet those walking, cycling, and driving by - neighbors and strangers alike. One of Promenade Parke's Parks is across the street.
Inside, all of the windows have plantation shutters. There is an abundance of storage space throughout. The pantry and the entryway closet have been rebuilt with "U" shape shelving - 24 in the entryway closet and 30 in the pantry. Shelves have been built in the air-handler room. The house was expanded when the back was pushed out two feet and the great-room moved inward for two. That decision resulted in an almost 200 square foot lanai (that was then converted to a fully enclosed sunroom), a larger master bedroom, and a larger walk-in closet. The great room has a breakfast table, an island in excess of eleven feet, a full dining room, couch, chairs, TV, etc.. The walk-in closet (now 160 square feet) has 75 linear feet (16 inches deep) of storage space in over 30 shelves, 15 drawers and 21 feet of hanger rods. The great room has four sun tunnels - the laundry room one.
The man cave (garage) ceiling was raised two feet as was the insulated door. There are phone and TV connections, additional power outlets, over 47 cubic feet of covered and vented storage space, two open storage areas suspended from the ceiling, and a closet for the hurricane panels and footers.
Hurricane protection: Hurricane panel installation has been changed from horizontal to vertical to increase simplicity and to eliminate the need for a ladder in windy conditions. Clear panels are available for all rooms with two or three for the sunroom and the office/parlor. These expensive clear panels are not clear enough to clearly see-through, but they can keep one from becoming claustrophobic should a storm stall overhead for an extended period. A notebook will be available at closing with pictures and instructions for preparing all windows, doors, and three escape hatches. Pictures and comments for other preparations (like tools, batteries, tree staking, generator (not included in the sale), hardware, etc. will be in the notebook. It is sincerely hoped that the new owners will meet for a walk-through of the hurricane material, pictures, notes, advice, and options.
