About This Home
As of March 2013Kingston Stockade Historic National Registered, preserved and improved over time, known as the Mathew Jansen House, or more locally as the "House of Doctors" is one of the finest historical homes in Kingston. Originally built before the Revolutionary War, the British attempted to burn this home in 1777. With only the walls remaining the home was rebuilt in 1796, as a residence of several of Kingston's doctors. The side addition was added in the 19th century and continued to be used as a doctors office.
