This land is set up for horses with perimeter fencing, corrals, barn and several spigots for watering. Property has scenic views in all directions and borders Makoshika State Park.
The Yellowstone River is where you will find the prehistoric paddlefish and Intake damn which is a coveted destination for fisherman. The river is also home to Brown, Rainbow, and Cuttthroat Trout, Burbot, Channel Catfish, Mountain Whitefish, Sauger, Smallmouth Bass, and Walleye.
Glendive is located in the Region 7 Block managment program and in 2016, there are 264 Block Management Areas (BMA's) that provide access to over 2,290,000 acres of private, state, and federal lands. Region 7 produces, on average, one-quarter (25%) of the state's annual mule deer harvest; 10% of the state's white-tailed deer harvest; (17% of the total statewide deer harvest); 35% of the state's annual antelope harvest; and 5% of the state's elk harvest. The Region supports populations of six species of upland birds and a variety of waterfowl to provide diverse hunting opportunities. (provided by fwp.mt.gov)
We are also located approximately 100 miles from Fort Peck Lake. More than 50 different kinds of fish swim in the Fort Peck Reservoir, Montana's largest body of water. The lake is about 134 miles in length and has a maximum depth of 220 feet when full. Some of the most hotly pursued species reside here and include walleye (a priority among the serious anglers!), northern pike, paddlefish, sauger, lake trout, small mouth bass and chinook salmon. Surrounding this large expanse of water is the Charles M. Russell (CMR) National Wildlife Refuge, managed by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, which provides over one million acres of public land for fishing, hiking, hunting, camping, bird-watching, and other outdoor recreation.
