The 1928 Sears’ Crescent Model Home was part of the catalog order program, and one of only a handful still in existence in Jacksonville, Florida. The original ads claimed that “The average man can assemble a home in 30 days”. The home was built by the original owner and remained in possession of the original family for over 60 years. Jerry Spinks, a leader in Jacksonville’s preservation movement, saved the home from being demolished as a result of commercial construction in the area.
