About This Home

As of February 2017

CUSTOM BUILT charming 1920s cottage-look home with all of the modern upgrades nestled under three beautiful oak trees. As you approach the wide front porch, note the handcrafted wooden bead board ceiling, exposed rafters, and brick pillars with tapered columns. The rear entrance is just as inviting, with a nice screened porch with bead board ceilings and ceiling fan, overlooking a beautiful oak tree. Also, note the two driveways for off-street parking, one with a carport. Upon entering, you are met with a large space that is a combination living and dining area with beautiful dark hardwood floors, a gas fireplace, smooth 9-foot ceilings, and upgraded crown moulding. Off the sitting area is a room that can be used as an office, a bedroom, or a formal dining room. More...Also on the first floor are the kitchen, a spacious master bedroom with large ensuite master bath, a half bathroom, and the washer/dryer closet. The kitchen is a cook's delight with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. On the second floor, there are two spacious bedrooms and a second full bath. At the top of the stairs, there is an open area that easily accommodates a desk or seating for a reading nook. Custom wooden shutters and blinds throughout interior. The home also boasts a tankless hot water heater, security system, solid core interior doors, and is pre-wired for sound in several areas. About the area: The things to love about Park Circle are numerous and difficult to put into words. The area has a laid back vibe with access to wonderful restaurants and community events. You'll rarely feel the need to leave the area! Park Circle is central to just about everything. So no matter where you are going, it takes approximately 15 minutes to get there. If you want to go to the beach, it takes 15 minutes. If you want to go Downtown, it takes 15 minutes. If you want to go to West Ashley, it takes 15 minutes. But again, there is not much reason to leave. The revitalization that is happening in the area is unbelievable. Everyone is going to want to live here within the next 10 years so if you are smart you will move here now why the getting is good.

Oak Terrace Preserve is great for residents of all ages. There are a ton of kids, and you will see them frequently in the neighborhood riding their bikes, playing in pocket parks, and enjoying the playgrounds. When you leave your home and you pass a fellow neighbor, you know them, you wave to them and say, "Hello!" and even stop and chat for a bit. There is no putting your head down and pretending like you didn't see them. Throughout the year there are neighborhood events that bring everyone together. If you need a stick of butter, a box, or a stack of magazines for a school project, put it on the Oak Terrace Preserve Facebook page. Within a couple of minutes you will have several neighbors offering to help--so many that you will have to turn some down. Neighbors look out for each other and help in anyway that they can. There is a true sense of community, and it makes all of the difference in the world.

There are so many great places to eat in and near the downtown area of Park Circle: Accent on Wine, Yo Bo Cantina, Lotus, EVO, Stems & Skins, Lola, The Cod Father, The BBQ Joint, The Junction, Basico, Sesame, Fratello's, and top everything off with an ice cream from Park Circle Creamery.

The Park Circle Area is unlike any other area. It has a small town feel with a hip vibe. There truly is something for everyone here. If you like good food, it is here. If you like art, it is here. If you like knowing your neighbors and supporting your community, you will love it here. If you like the outdoors, you will love the numerous parks. We even have a disc golf course right in the center of the circle. The rec department has every sporting opportunity for your child you can imagine. There is swimming, tennis, soccer, football, baseball, and even an outdoor hockey court.

As if that's not enough, the Riverfront Park is just around the corner on the old Navy Base. The Riverfront Park has wonderful, free concerts during the summer that are very family friendly--not to mention one of the best fireworks display on the Fourth of July. If you like to fish, there are plenty of fishing spots in the area. There is also a fountain that the kiddos can play in on hot summer days. In the center of the circle on Thursdays, you can find a farmers market for local goodies and produce. In the community center, they have exercise classes and antique shows on a regular basis. If your child plays baseball or T-ball, this is where you will watch them play. All throughout the day, you will see folks walking or running the circle. During Christmas, there is a huge holiday light display that you can walk or drive through.

Another favorite thing to do in the area besides enjoying the excellent restaurants and wine bars is relaxing at Mixson Bath & Racquet Club. It has a pool, which is a must for the kiddos during the summer. It, too, has numerous social events throughout the year including a New Year's Eve party, Oyster roasts, holiday events including the Easter bunny and Santa Claus, and cabanas you can rent out for special events or just to watch one of your favorite teams play their rivals. If you are headed home and realize you need a bottle of wine, hop into Mixson Market. Their wine is on tap! Also located in Mixson are a barber, florist, and one of the best spas in the area.

Of course everyone has different tastes, but it's easy to enjoy the social aspects of the area. There are plenty of folks riding their bikes or fishing or playing disc golf. The area is very kid-friendly, with lots of activities for children. Another can't-miss event is the North Charleston Arts Festival. There is even have a small theater downtown to catch local actors doing their thing. There truly is something for everyone.

Oak Terrace Preserve is Green Certified; therefore, utilities are pretty low for the size of the home. SCE&G and Charleston Water are the utility companies servicing the neighborhood.
