This home was built just after W.W. 2 as a housing alternative for Veterans returning from battle. The Lustron Corporation had been building aircraft for the military and then entered a multi million dollar contract with the Federal Government to build homes, see video's on YouTube. These homes were designed with little maintenance needed and I believe are early examples of the panel designed homes being offered today. Lustron homes featured baked enamel finished metal panels that are screwed together and offer no wooden parts. There are olly 8 homes located in Albany. The state of Georgia led an effort to locate these home throughout the state and they are now on a Historic register. As far as I can tell they do not have to be kept in any specific condition. The entire exterior, including the roof, can be pressure washed. Make it a point to view this all metal home today.
