Additionally, an oil burning forced hot air furnace can be used if you choose not to use the woodstove, or go away for
an extended period during the winter months.
During the heating season the warm air rises through three-quarter partition walls in the home to the cathedral ceilings throughout and the cooler air settles back through the stairwell and repeats this continuous cycle. In the summer months the warmer air rises to the cathedral ceilings and with north and south windows open in the loft, convects the warm air out of the house, keeping it cooler in the summer without the use or expense of air conditioning. Ceiling fans assist in promoting continuous ventilation throughout the home.
