This sunny townhome in the Jazz on the Boulevard in North Kenwood/Bronzeville has just been completely refreshed. All of the walls have been resurfaced and repainted. All of the carpeting is new. The hardwood floors have been refinished. New high end stainless steel appliances were installed in the kitchen and a recently replaced stackable washer and dryer are on the top floor. This house has a terrific layout. On the ground floor is a carpeted bedroom with a good size closet, a full tiled bath with tub/shower, the water pump for great water pressure all through the home, a coat closet (which somehow builders forget these days) and the long attached garage with plenty of storage space. The carpeted stairs lead to the entertaining floor. A big bright living room with 3 windows facing east and one facing south has a gas fired fireplace with a marble surround. It opens to the dining room and kitchen which access the balcony for lovely al fresco meals and grilling. The kitchen has maple cabinets and granite counters. The new appliances include a gas range, dishwasher and refrigerator. The microwave was replaced in 2017. Also on this floor is the powder room and furnace room which has a hot water heater (2/2015) and the HVAC system (condensing unit, matching coil inside the furnace and blower motor all replaced in 8/2015) which heats and cools the entire house. Up the 2nd set of carpeted stairs are two good size bedrooms with closets that span entire walls. The master bedroom has a door opening directly into the tiled bath which also has a hallway door. It has a whirlpool bathtub/shower. Off the landing is the laundry closet with stackable washer/dryer combo new in 2019. Up the last set of carpeted stairs is a small bright landing perfect for a reading nook or desk. The door opens to the roof with wonderful wide open views. The house is remarkably bright because the west side of the house overlooks a field that is owned by a fraternal group which uses it a couple of times a month as a parking lot for their meetings. Walkscore says it is very walkable and very bikeable with good transit. Martin Luther King High School is just down the street. The shopping corridor of 47th St boasts a Walmart, Binneys, Ross and Walgreens. You are just over a mile from the 53rd St entertainment center with great shopping and restaurants. Mariano's is a mile to the north. Whole Foods is east. Trader Joes at 55th St. The Cottage Grove bus stops just behind the house heading to the Loop and beyond. Mandrake Park is a few blocks north with its running track. The new pedestrian bridge to the lakefront and Oakwood Beach and marina is a few blocks east. So lovely to watch the boats. The lush Drexel Boulevard parkway has recently refurbished paths for shady walks. This townhome is in the middle of this most private block for quiet living, yet it is a mere 10 minute drive to the Loop along the majestic Lake Shore Drive. It's been burnished and buffed and is ready to move in.
