A very large concrete front porch was added as well as a cypress timber frame and metal roof. The entire brick exterior was stucco'd by hand using old world techniques and materials. The majority of the interior is custom tongue and groovewood walls with custom molding, new solid doors throughout, custom wood plantation shutters, interior timber colonnade, and a massive brick and stucco hearth. The exterior and interior timber frames were hand built and installed by a master timber framer. The home was re-wired with all new fixtures and appliances, HVAC and insulation. The flooring is the original red oak and it was chemically treated to varying grey colors. The kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities are custom built with flush door construction. The kitchen island countertop is custom made with wide plank maple. There is a very large play room/living room with cypress walls as well as an attached garage and custom driveway and patio. The yard has an irrigation system and a well. The large lot is full of beautiful plants and trees and could easily support a large pool or anything you would want to add. The home is situated nicely on the lot and there is large separation from adjoining houses and offers great privacy. This special home was featured in Charleston Home and Design magazine.
