In spite of the experts, the Wildlife Unlimited launched a project in 1994 to introduce the wild turkey into Iron County. The project was successful and there are thousands of birds for spring and fall hunt seasons! Hunters have opportunities to harvest trophy White-tailed Deer and healthy Black Bear that roam the hardwood and conifer forests. The County has an extensive network of trails for biking, hiking, and ATV riding in the summer and for Snowmobiling in the winter.
