Quincy Point features quiet streets and diverse residents
Quincy Point started out as a shipbuilding site in 1901, and residents can see the proof at the United States Naval Shipbuilding Museum. Today, the coastal neighborhood, nicknamed “The Point”, celebrates the culture and heritage of all its residents. Anyone looking for Indian, Chinese, Thai or Brazilian food will have plenty of options here. Single-family homes, condos and senior communities fill the neighborhood, welcoming future homeowners and renters to enjoy the quiet streets and nearby beaches. Quincy Point gives residents an escape from bustling Boston, but Interstate 93 and the Red Line subway guide commuters. Those who need a change of pace from Mound Street Beach can be in Cape Cod in less than two hours. Rose Mancuso, a Realtor at Keller Williams Realty Boston Northwest with over 18 years of experience, notes that homes in Quincy Point include Cape Cods and Colonial revivals with more condominiums and bungalows as you get closer to the harbor. This eclectic neighborhood welcomes those who want to be close to Boston but live in an area with exciting eateries and public transportation options.

Exploring seafood restaurants and international markets
When folks want to dine out, they might visit The Lobster Stop, a family-owned spot that serves lobster rolls and seafood platters. Coop’s Bar & Grill offers a sports-themed menu and always has football playing on Sundays. One of Mancuso’s favorite spots, Bay Pointe Waterfront Restaurant, was recently voted “Restaurant of the Year” by the Retailers Association of Massachusetts. Here, guests sit on the bay dock and enjoy fresh seafood. “It has beautiful views and delicious entrees,” says Mancuso. The Point is also home to incredible Indian eateries, including Punjab Café and Raja Rani, and several Chinese restaurants, such as China Pearl and South Garden. Some shop for specialized ingredients at Nilo’s Market, an international grocery store, or the El-Refaey Mediterranean Market, which is loved for its fresh produce and Middle Eastern food. When locals need to restock the pantry, they visit the Stop & Shop or Walmart.

Ringing in the Lunar New Year in Downtown Quincy
Quincy Asian Resources organizes festivals and community events throughout the year, but the Annual August Moon Festival and Lunar New Year Festival always draw a crowd to downtown Quincy. Guests get free admission to see lion dances, taste delicious treats and shop at the street market. Both festivals have been a town tradition since the 1980s. Others head downtown for the In Between Days music festival to rock out to live music, shop vintage items and browse vinyl records at pop-up shops.
Cape Cods, rental townhouses and condos on every street
Future Quincy Point residents looking to buy a home or rent a condo will find plenty of options here. Some might settle in a three-bedroom Cape Cod with a wraparound porch and uncovered parking. Others can find high-rise condos with two bedrooms and views of the Town River Bay. “There are a lot of options for homebuyers here,” says Mancuso. Most single-family homes were built in the early 1900s but have since been renovated to give homeowners modern amenities in a home that still feels classic on the outside. Those looking to buy a home can expect to pay $375,000 to $800,000. Renters are looking at roughly $2,000 to $3,000 a month. Investors looking to manage a duplex or multi-family home can find available units close to the beach and in the southern half of the neighborhood.

Celebrating culture at Pointer Webster Middle
Kids throughout the neighborhood get ready every morning for a day of learning at Clifford H. Marshall Elementary, which receives a B-plus from Niche. They later attend the B-rated Pointer Webster Middle School, where they participate in the annual cultural fair. At the fair, each classroom represents a different country, and students and visitors learn more about cultures and customs by folding Japanese origami, building Vietnamese lanterns and sampling traditional dishes from various countries. Students take what they learn in middle school to Quincy High School before graduating. Quincy High earns a B-plus.
