Martine and Alex are the best! Whether you're selling in town or the country, or looking for a perfect home, The Irmer Group is the last realtor you'll ever choose. The treat their clients like family. And unlike most realtors, who take days to back to your questions, Martine and Alex stay in constant communication. Our last house sold in less than a week and, a month later, all the other houses are still just sitting on the market and lowering prices. Can't recommend Martine and Alex enough!

This Team is very professional, on point, resourceful and extremely knowledgeable of the market. They made great recommendations and were able to get repairs done through their network timely, efficiently, and conveniently: removing stress from the process for me. The recommended contractors were professional licensed and thorough. I was able to entertain offers and identified a buyer in 3-4 days. The Team is about business (result oriented), but it's like working with old friends. I wish I had more properties to sell-I would use them every time!!!!

Martine and Alex were great and we could not have asked for any better. They were both patient with us throughout our home buying process and spent months looking at houses to make sure that we were getting the right house for us. Not only was there no pressure from them throughout looking, they made sure that at no point we were going to settle for something less than we wanted and worked extra to find us the perfect house. We would recommend to anyone and will definitely use them for a future home purchase.

When we returned to Old Town Alexandria after a 4-year tour in Texas, we needed a savvy real estate agent to help us navigate the changing neighborhoods. We were lucky to be referred to not one but two! Martine and Alex were terrific to work with, bringing unique strengths to the Irmer Group. Martine knows the neighborhoods, homes, and builders like none other--her knowledge is vast and deep. Alex quickly assesses the house's functional aspects--the HVAC system, plumbing, electrical, and roof--and can point to strengths and weaknesses. Together, they provided unparalleled guidance and support as we searched for our new home. Once we purchased our house, we knew we could reach out to Martine and Alex with questions, such as how to get the geothermal system serviced. They have been fantastic and delightful every step of the way! Indeed, we are fortunate to call them now our friends.

The Irmer Group (Martine) provided excellent service from the moment we decided to list the house. Her expertise of the real estate market and industry of our area could not have been better. She provided support beyond just the transaction and connected us with the appropriate people to clear and make necessary repairs to the house for sale. Martine took the time to understand our needs and expectations and expedited all paperwork, viewing, and open house leading to a quick sale. Because of her expertise the house was cleared, staged and listed within 30 days of signing our listing agreement. We received and accepted a contract within 6 days after the open house. We would highly recommend the Irmer Group based on their dedication to accommodate our specific needs and expertise in the real estate industry.

Alex helped my wife and I purchase our first home. We did this while my wife was six months pregnant, and stress during the process was a worry of course. Alex worked patiently with us, using his extensive knowledge of the area. Also, having a source who is understanding of what to look for when it comes to possible issues or high cost items that would need replacing soon, was again something that made the process much less stressful. When we went to close both Alex and Martin were diligent to make sure everything was correct, and when a mistake was found they made sure it was corrected. I am always pessimistic when it comes to buying large items, but I honestly felt like I had a friend and advocate working with them.

You truly can’t find a better realtor team than Alex & Martine! They are incredibly knowledgeable about things housing-related and know exactly what to look for and red flags to avoid in both a house and neighborhood. Alex invested time into learning exactly what we are dreaming of and helped guide us to find exactly what we wanted in a neighborhood we would have never thought to explore. He was flexible and always made himself available to show us houses and connect with us during the search. On top of that, Alex is incredibly personable, thoughtful, and funny which made the process very enjoyable. Alex and Martine stopped over after I contacted them about wanting to sell my house. Both were just as friendly and positive as can be. I had mentioned that I had plans to travel to Europe for a couple of weeks, and they assured me that it would not be a problem. Once the photos were taken of the house, they forwarded them to me. They did a wonderful job. In fact, on my second day in Italy, Alex contacted me with an offer on my house, which I accepted. We communicated throughout the process via email and telephone. They kept me updated and arranged a closing date that fit my schedule. Martine was with me through the signing. Their friendliness and welcoming spirit made me feel like more than just a client. I highly recommend both Alex and Martine.

My wife and I mainly write reviews for the prospective buyers out there who, just like we were, may not know the ground truth in certain areas. Both Alex and Martine Irmer helped us both buy and sell in Old Town Alexandria. We couldn't not recommend them more! If we could have them for our future transactions (we're moving out of the area) we 100% would. Both Martine and Alex were very professional, gave us the upmost confidence in their knowledge of the markets, and served as a good advisor and friend through, what can be, a stressful process. I would argue they have the top pulse on the Old Town market, knowing block by block which homes are worth the value. In some cases, they had previously sold the homes and were intimately familiar with the history, the work done (especially in the case of renovations and flips), and past issues or complaints about the location. Alex went above and beyond to show homes in the market in two days, seeing over eight homes! He worked hard to show the pros/cons of each property, educate us on the inventory, and guide us to the right choice. In both the buy/sell negotiations, you NEED Martine Irmer on your side. She's very smart about real estate transactions, will defend you as a buyer/seller, and knows the landscape well. I would recommend to anyone out there looking to buy or sell, give Martine and Alex a call and talk with them about your goals, intentions, and plans. We happened upon Martine at an open house and we're forever grateful for it!
