Allan Dechert

Allan “Dutch” Dechert, is a past president of the New Jersey REALTORS® (NJR®). A REALTOR® since 1981, Dutch is the broker/co-owner of Ferguson Dechert Real Estate, Inc. in Avalon, N.J. Ferguson Dechert is the #1 Team in Avalon and Stone Harbor, NJ for Sales, Rentals, and Investments. They have been the market leader in sales continuously since 1995.
Dutch has served as a NJR® officer, division officer, and committee chairperson. In addition, he served as the president of the NJR® Governmental Research Foundation in 2006 and 2007. He serves as a NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR) director, a position in which he also served from 2002 to 2008, and 2009 to 2016. In 2017 he was the Region 2 Vice President for NAR. This year he was chair of NAR’s Insurance Committee. He was presented with the Resort and Second Home Property Specialist (RSPS) of the Year Award at the NAR 2010 REALTORS® Conference & Expo in New Orleans.
In addition to his involvement in the REALTOR® organization, Dechert is committed to improving his local community. He is a trustee of the Avalon Chamber of Commerce, having served as its president from 2004 to 2007. He also serves as a member of the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce.
