About Amy
Amy Spivey is a Haywood County native whose family has been in North Carolina prior to the Civil War. Amy has lived in Valle Crusis, NC, Panama City Beach & Vero Beach, Florida, but always came home to the mountains. She is a graduate of Tuscola High School and a Suma Cum Laude graduate of WCU. Amy became a Broker in 2004 and she has been pleased with the challenges and opportunities that being a realtor provides. Being a realtor is a helping profession, listening to others needs and facilitating the process that allows them to buy or sell their home. It is very satisfying to assist others in attaining their dreams.
Amy was married in 2002 and she and her husband Tarver enjoy the outdoors. She has a special love of mountain and traditional music and dance. Amy enjoys giving back to her community through volunteer service and is active with numerous service projects through the Haywood County Volunteer Center and the Board of Realtors. Amy was the 2015 President for the Haywood County Board of Realtors, holds the ECO, green, and SFR designations and was the 2007 Realtor of the Year. She is on the Board of Directors of Project Challenge NC, Habitat for Humanity and is a member of Altrusa and Long’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Amy is an organizer of PlottFest, a festival celebrating mountain music and culture that benefits Head Start of Haywood and Jackson County. The Spivey’s welcomed a precious son, Henry, in September of 2009. To her delight, he appears to have inherited her love of the outdoors and music. Amy lives on a farm in the Fines Creek Community where the family grows and preserves much of their food and cares for a brood of assorted livestock.
