Andy Austin has been in the real estate industry for over 20 years. He is a licensed auctioneer, appraiser, and real estate broker in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and licensed auctioneer in the states of West Virginia and Florida. He holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute, and the CAI, AMM and AARE designations from the National Auctioneers Association, and is a CCIM candidate pursuing the CCIM designation for commercial real estate salespeople.
His appraisal career began in 2005 at an appraisal firm in Roanoke, VA until 2007 when he moved to a large private appraisal firm in Richmond. He formed his own company, Austin Appraisal & Consulting in 2012 and completed the MAI designation in 2013. He completed appraisal assignments throughout Virginia for a broad range of property types including improved multi-family, retail, special-purpose, and industrial properties, high-value residential properties and vacant residential, industrial, and agricultural sites. Clients have included banks, attorneys, insurance companies, and private landowners and trusts.
In 2016, He obtained auctioneer licensure in Virginia and formed Double A Auction & Realty with a focus on real estate auctions. He is currently a member of the the National Auctioneers Association (NAA). He completed the AARE (Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate) in October of 2019 and the NAA's Auction Marketing Manager (AMM) designation in 2020. In 2023, he completed the NAA's three-year CAI (Certified Auctioneers Institute) program.
In addition to real estate and personal property auctions, he is a contract auctioneer seasoned in simulcast auctions. In addition to bidcalling, he has expertise in all aspects of simulcast auctions. His experience in asset dispositions includes seized real estate on behalf of the U.S. Marshals Service and tax-delinquent real estate for cities and counties throughout Virginia. Experience includes all aspects of marketing from taking photos, building online auctions on company website, develop and implement form-based bidder approval systems, set-up of a/v at onsite live auctions, implementation of simulcast software at live auctions, and calling tax delinquent and non tax-delinquent real estate auctions. He has participated as a team member in simulcast auctions in Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Wyoming, and Montana.
April of 2023 saw the creation of his traditional real estate service. Double A Auction & Realty obtained licensure as a Virginia Real Estate Brokerage. He will now be able to expand to other states and offer the Double A Experience for accelerated real estate marketing to clients with wide-reaching asset portfolios.
